Below is a copy of the Etowah County Medication Policy. This is provided for your information:
Prescription medication may be given at school by the nurse or designated school personnel provided the following conditions are met:
- Authorization form is filled out and signed by the physician and parent.
- Medication is brought to school in a correctly labeled pharmacy bottle.
Over the Counter Medication may be given after a Parent Authorization Form is filled out and signed by the student’s parent or guardian. It is no longer necessary to have a doctor’s order for Over the Counter medications to be given. The medications must be brought to the school by the parent in the original unopened container with the student’s name written on it.
