MATH :
Go Math! is taught in third grade.  We will complete and check workbook pages in class each day after completing the lesson. Students will usually complete a practice page for homework. Be sure to sign homework each night AND study math facts (addition, subtraction, or multiplication)for 5-10 minutes each night.  It is essential for your child to learn their facts.

SPELLING:
We have 20 words each week. Please study with your child and give them a practice test on Thursday. Our spelling test is every Friday. Make sure you child can spell all 20 words on their list correctly. You may want to learn to spell 5 words each night. You will also get a handwriting grade on your Spelling Test each week. Practice writing neatly! If you need a list of words, click on the link below to download. We will write in CURSIVE this year so BE NEAT with your handwriting and practice your cursive!

READING:

I will send home a study guide each Monday for Reading. It will have a list of all the vocabulary words, definitions, and spelling words. On the back it will list the focus skill, grammar skill, and the title and author of our story. Your child also has vocabulary cards that are very helpful in matching the meaning with the word when studying. Have your child READ the words to you. They must be able to read the word as they encounter it in our story. We will complete a study guide on Thursday that helps with some of the test questions and the essay question.

*Read the story at home aloud with an adult on Tuesday of each week*

*Read your vocabulary words, definitions, and spelling words aloud to an adult EVERY night *

Your vocabulary & comprehension test is on Friday. It will cover the story, vocabulary, focus skill, and grammar listed on the study guide.

A.R. READING:
For the First AR Party students must have at least 12 points with an 85% average correct.

PLEASE HELP OUR CLASS REACH OUR A.R. GOAL BY READING IN YOUR ZONE AND PASSING TESTS!
