About Me

This will begin my 25th year of teaching at GES. I have taught kindergarten, first and second grade. I enjoy teaching second grade because it is a joy to see children make that transition of sounding out words to reading fluently. I also enjoy see the growth of each child in all academic areas of second grade. Respect and Responsibility are important values that I use each day in the classroom. I teach children that by exhibiting respect and having responsibility can empower them to grow in ways that will bring great rewards and accomplishments in life.
In 1992 I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at Jacksonville State University. In 1997 I graduated with a Master's Degree from the University of Alabama. I earned certification in both Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I began teaching at Glencoe Elementary in 1994. Before that time I substituted, filled in for teachers on leave, and worked a year at Episcopal Day School.
I am married to Jeff Edwards. We have 2 wonderful children ages 19 and 13.  We love to travel and go to Alabama home football games. My family loves animals. This is apparent as we have many pets.
I am here to help your child succeed. If you need to contact me please email me or call the school office and leave a message for me. You may also contact me by notes in your child's folder. I look forward to working with your child.
