Meet Mrs. Yocum

Lyndsey Yocum

Hi! Welcome to my website! My name is Lyndsey Yocum. I attended Glencoe from grades Kindergarten through 12th. After graduating high school, I went on to attend Gadsden State Community College. After taking my basic courses there, I transferred to Jacksonville State University where I graduated at the top of my class in December of 2010.  In August of 2015, I began my journey with UAB to receive my Master's degree in English as a Second Language (ESL). I graduated with my Master's degree in 2017! I was voted GES teacher of the year for the 2019/2020 school year. After that, I received the Etowah County Teacher of the Year award. I recently got married and have a new last name! I also have two children of my own. Kailyn is 14. My son, Grant is 9.

I am so proud to call Glencoe Elementary my teaching home! This is my 8th year of teaching. Previously, I have taught first grade. I am SO excited to teach 2nd grade.  It is my goal to help each and every one of my students succeed. Not only will they learn the coursework, but I will teach them life lessons and how to be an excellent citizen in our world today.

I am a qualified teacher according to the standards set by NCLB. Feel free to email me at or you can call the office and leave a message for me at 256.492.4709. I am here to help!
